If you’ve always wondered what lies beneath the surface, now’s the time to find out. Start the journey of a lifetime with the Open Water Diver course. It will change you forever.
In the Open Water Diver course, your instructor will teach you the basics of Scuba Diving and the operation of all of the Scuba gear that you will be using. You will complete Confined Water Training sessions(in a swimming pool) before progressing to the Open Water for your final four Certification dives. Our highly skilled staff will be there to guide you through the hows and whys of diving. Our goal is to take you from beginner to a highly capable and competent diver during the course. We will do everything in our power to ensure that your experience culminates in a life long love of diving and all its great adventures. Our passion for the sport and our desire to share that with you will be evident from the start. You will begin with home study using web based training and then progress to your Classroom and Pool instruction. The Home Study program must be completed prior to the Classroom phase. Pricing varies depending on agency and all fees for materials are paid directly to the agency and are not included in the tuition. During the classroom phase your instructor will be providing you all of the detailed information about diving and all the required skills that you will need to become a safe and competent diver. We will then ensure you are fully qualified in the pool before sending you to Open Water to complete your course. There are three(3) pool sessions for two(2) hours each for a total of six(6) hours of Confined Water training. An entrance fee of $9 per session is charged by the pool to every attendant and is not included in the tuition. After you complete your Confined Water training you will have your Open Water Certification dives to complete. This consists of four(4) dives done over two(2) days at one of the Open Water venues available to us. At this time we use either Dutch Springs in PA or Lake Phoenix in Va. Each destination is between 3 and 4 hours from the shop. This will require an overnight stay for most students. You can either camp on site or stay at a hotel near by. Open Water Certification classes generally begin at 9am each morning and conclude around 3pm each day. We will provide all the needed equipment with the exception of Mask, Fins and Snorkel. Additional costs are associated with the quarry such as entry fees and airfills. Prices will vary slightly depending on the venue chosen by the instructor for that weekend. Earning your Open Water Diver certification is just the beginning. As a certified diver, fabulous dive destinations, exciting people, unparalleled adventure and uncommon tranquility await you. And, as you continue your adventure and gain experience through higher training levels, your opportunities will expand.
